Abstract: One way to generalize the classical Cramér-Lundberg model of ruin theory is to replace the Poisson process with a more general counting process driven by a stochastic intensity. In our model we consider a counting process which is a Markovian marked Hawkes process. Such processes are characterized by their self-exciting property, which means that every jump of the process itself increases the probability of further jumps. We identify suitable exponential martingales and corresponding alternative measures under which ruin occurs almost surely. We also determine the asymptotic behaviour of the ruin probability.[hide abstract]
